Claude Code + Remotion

Turn your website into a launch video

A Claude Code skill that takes a screen recording and a short brief, then writes, scores, and renders a finished 15-30 second launch video — motion, music, and burned-in captions included.

What you actually need

01Claude Code, installed and logged in.
02Node.js, so Remotion can run — installs automatically as part of setup, nothing to configure yourself.
03A real screen recording of whatever you're making the video for. The skill uses your actual UI copy — it doesn't invent labels or screens, so a real recording is what makes the output look legitimate instead of generic.

Set it up

01
Open Claude Code

Type claude in your terminal to start it.

02
Ask it to clone and set up the skill

No need to run git or npm commands yourself — just tell Claude Code what to do in plain English.

Message to send in Claude Code

Build your video

03
Give it your brief and the recording

Describe what you built, the tone you want, and drop in your screen recording as a file.

04
Answer whatever it asks for

Brand colors, fonts, tone — it'll ask for anything missing before it builds.

05
Review the storyboard before it renders

This is the step that saves you a wasted render — check the right feature is highlighted and the pacing feels right.

06
Approve, and let it render

You get a finished 15-30 second video, motion and music included, captions burned in for muted viewers.

Example brief to send

Make a launch video for [your product/site]. Here's the brief: it's [one sentence on what it does], built for [who it's for]. Tone should be [confident / playful / premium — pick one]. Here's a screen recording of it in action: [attach file]

How to film your own video about this

01Screen-record the setup message going in — the "clone this repo" prompt, quick and simple.
02Screen-record the brief + recording being sent — this is where the "wait, it just does this" moment starts.
03Let the render actually happen on screen — don't cut away, the real-time generation is your proof.
04End on the finished rendered video playing — that's your strongest visual, save it for last.

Troubleshooting

Storyboard highlights the wrong featureBe more specific in your brief about what matters most — name the exact feature or moment you want emphasized.
Video feels genericGive it your actual brand colors and fonts up front instead of letting it default — specificity in the brief is what avoids a templated feel.
Captions or UI text look wrongThe skill pulls real copy from your screen recording — if it's off, your recording likely didn't show that screen clearly enough.

The skill enforces a few hard rules by default: your product has to appear on screen within the first 3 seconds, text stays readable at 720p, and captions are always burned in for muted viewers.
