An open source scraper that runs entirely on your own machine — no subscription, no per-lead cost. Tell it a city and a business type in plain English, and it hands back a clean list with contact info and social profiles.
This is a self-hosted scraper for Google Maps business listings, built to run through Claude Code so you never have to touch scraping code yourself. You describe what you want in a normal sentence, and it handles the rest.
Everything runs locally in a Docker container. There's no cloud service, no API key to pay for, and no subscription. The social profile lookup (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) runs on plain HTTP requests, not AI tokens, so it doesn't cost you anything extra to enrich a list.
It all exports into a clean CSV you can open straight in Sheets or Excel.
This is the only real dependency. Everything else runs inside the container it creates.
Go to github.com/Mahanaicoach/google-maps-scraper-kit, click Code, then Download ZIP. Unzip it anywhere on your machine.
Open a terminal in that folder and run the command below.
docker compose up -d
You have two ways to do this. Pick whichever fits how you work.
Run the script directly with a search term, coordinates, and how many results deep to go.
./scripts/scrape.sh "coffee shops in Austin TX" 30.2672 -97.7431 5
Open the project folder in Claude Code and just ask for what you want in plain language. It runs the scrape for you.
Scrape dentists in Toronto and give me their phone number and website.
Scraping Google Maps goes against Google's Terms of Service. Treat what you get back as leads to verify and reach out to, not a dataset to resell.
Heavy use without proxy rotation can get your IP temporarily rate-limited, sometimes for a few hours. Start with a small batch (5 to 10 results) to test, run one job at a time, and add proxies if you're doing this at real volume.
Good first test: pick a business type and city you don't already have a client in, so a slower first run doesn't cost you anything if it's rate-limited.
Inside the community I cover how to take a list like this and actually turn it into paying clients, plus the other free tools and AI setups I use to run my own business.
