Ponytail, OmniRoute, Graphify and Agent Skills. What each one does, the official repo, the exact install steps, and what is oversold.
All 4 are free and open source. 2 do what people say. 2 are oversold.
| Plugin | What it does | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Ponytail | Makes Claude write less code | Useful. Savings smaller than claimed. |
| OmniRoute | Routes Claude Code to other models | Useful backup. Not "unlimited Claude". |
| Graphify | Maps your project into a graph | Holds up. |
| Agent Skills | Step-by-step engineering workflow | Holds up. Best of the 4. |
Ponytail makes Claude justify every line before it writes it. It stops Claude from pulling in a library for something one line can do.
The claim: cuts your tokens in half with no loss in accuracy. The reality: independent tests put the token saving near 10 to 22%. The big numbers you see (54%, 94%) are fewer lines of code, not fewer tokens. Still worth installing.

OmniRoute is an AI gateway you run on your own computer. It puts one endpoint in front of hundreds of model providers. You set up a "combo", a chain of models. When one runs out or fails, it moves to the next.
The claim: almost unlimited Claude Code usage. The reality: when your Claude limit runs out, OmniRoute hands the job to a different model. Claude Code keeps working, but it is not Claude doing the work anymore. Treat it as a backup, not more Claude.
github.com/diegosouzapw/OmniRoute ↗You need Node.js installed. Run this in Terminal:
npm install -g omniroute && omnirouteThen open http://localhost:20128. Add your providers, build a combo, and follow the Claude Code setup steps in the repo README.
Stay on the safe side. Use official API keys and official free tiers only. Skip any route that offers "free Claude" through someone else's account. That can break the provider's terms and get keys banned.
Graphify turns your project into a knowledge graph. Claude then asks the graph where things are, instead of opening files one by one. On a big project that means fewer file reads and less wasted context.
github.com/Graphify-Labs/graphify ↗The package name has 2 y's: graphifyy. The command you run after is graphify.
uv tool install graphifyy
pipx install graphifyy
pip install graphifyygraphify install/graphify .Copy only one line from Step 1. uv is the recommended option. With plain pip you may need to add it to your PATH.
A pack of engineering skills by Addy Osmani at Google. It gives Claude a real workflow: write the spec, plan, build in small steps, test, review, ship. Each stage has its own command, and the right skills load on their own.
